Russian Soldiers Find Strange Creature

Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at 8:58 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment

Found this story while surfing the internets today.  Apparently some soldiers in far Eastern Russia found a rather odd looking…thing.  Take a gander:

Real or fake?  What is it?  You decide.  In the meantime, the comments to the story on the blog I linked to and Huffington Post have been pretty funny, as I have listed below.

Its a “ManBearPig” see:

This not hoax! This great example of many many wildlifes in Mother Russia, environmental capital of world!

Shit, they found her !
It’s my mother in law !!!!!!!!!

it’s clearly the dead body of barbara straisand

i’d hit it

it’s madonna!

It’s Big Bird!

It’s Anna Nicole Smith

It’s a Wyvern!

It looks dead.

Now onto the replies from The Huffington Post.

long and hairy, Bin Laden?

Looks like Howard Dean.

The last honest republican. “Sniff”, guess their extinct now.

I’ve often wondered whatever happened to Linda Tripp.

It’s obiviously some sort of Muppet…probably a Snuffleupagus.

Suri’s dad?

It’s Nessie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could it be WMD?

It makes me think of Janet Reno.

It is clearly one of THOSE OF WHICH WE DO NOT SPEAK.

Jar-Jar Binks died?

It has Milli Vanilli’s wig.

It’s refreshing to see a story where the comments are actually comical instead of bickering.

Sheehan protest group disrupts Rove reception

Sunday, August 20, 2006 at 12:22 am | Posted in Cindy Sheehan | 1 Comment

Yes, that loveable lady is back at it, according to MSNBC (again):

AUSTIN, Texas – Chanting “Try Rove for treason,” Cindy Sheehan and more than 50 other war protesters disrupted a reception before President Bush’s top adviser Karl Rove spoke at a fundraiser Saturday.

She just doesn’t quit!  You have to admire (or, if you’re on the right, despise) her determination.  The story goes on:

“I want him arrested. He planned the war that killed my son,” Sheehan told officers guarding the door. Sheehan’s oldest son Casey was killed in Iraq in 2004.

I think she’s delusional.  Sadly, none of the architects of the Iraq war will ever be put to task or be faced to admit their responsibility for leading the United States into a bloody mess that has lasted 1,250 days.  In any event:

Those at the reception sipped their drinks and largely ignored the protesters before they started chanting. One man looked at the group and said, “Go Bush!”

Earlier Saturday, the group of more than 70 gathered at the hotel entrance, carrying a large banner that read, “Rove: Guilty of crimes against humanity.” Ann Wright, a former U.S. diplomat who resigned in 2003 in protest over the war, yelled through a bullhorn, “Karl Rove, you are a criminal!”

First day of college!

Saturday, August 19, 2006 at 1:27 am | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment

Well today I embarked on the next path of my education, with a huge amount of financial assistance from my mom and dad.  So far things have been great.  I’ve moved into my dorm, and set everything up how I want it.  My roommate, Kraig, is great.  We’ve been getting along great so far.

Earlier tonight at 10, the freshmen dormies were treated to a showing of The Benchwarmers.  This was my second time seeing it, and I enjoyed the movie.

Right now it’s 1:12 in the morning, and Kraig is fast asleep, as are many of the people in the neighboring dorms.  The only sound that I’m hearing right now is the drone of the air conditoner.

I’m tired, so I’ll write more later.  Perhaps pictures too.

Anti-suicide bomber PSA airs in Iraq

Friday, August 18, 2006 at 1:54 am | Posted in Iraq | Leave a comment

In an attempt to discourage suicide attacks in Iraq, a one minute public service announcement has begun airing.  Los Angeles-based TV commercial production company 900 Frames, and Lebanon movie studio EFX Films created the 60 second spot.  Newsweek has more.  This is the PSA:

Wait, I’m confused.  Was that a teaser for a new Matrix movie?  I applaud what lenghts the makers of this amazing public service announcement went through to ensure realism, because I’m sure whenever a bomb rips people to shreds in Baghdad, the victims experience bullet time.

Two Fox News journalists kidnapped in Gaza City

Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 2:25 am | Posted in Left Wing Idiots, News | Leave a comment

Quoting the Reuters article:

GAZA (Reuters) – Palestinian gunmen kidnapped two foreign journalists working for the Fox News television channel in Gaza on Monday, a witness said.

The witness, a Palestinian who worked with the two journalists, said one of them, a producer, was an American, and the other, whose nationality he did not know, was a cameraman.

The Fox News bureau in Jerusalem said it was checking the report.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the abduction.

Say what you will about Fox News, but I hope the journalists end up safe.

Many on the left hate the Fox News Channel with a passion, and always have rather nasty things to say whenever something bad happens to the network or one of its employees.  Such an example of these comments can be found on this thread over at The Huffington Post.  Below are some of the typical, and sometimes vulgar, thoughts you can expect:

Please tell me it’s O’Reilly, Hannity, Doocy, Kilmeade…oh wait, that’s more than two.

Good riddence of bad rubbish

Behead the bastards. Party time.

By: satanlefttheusa on August 14, 2006 at 03:20pm

The list goes on.  To be fair, however, there are a few people who distance themselves from the hate speech:

I REALLY want to say something very nasty here, but it wouldn’t be the right thing to do.

By: reademandweep on August 14, 2006 at 02:47pm

too bad, as much as I hate fox, I don’t like to see anyone missing from they’re families…

By: jefe on August 14, 2006 at 03:03pm

Yeah, those are the only two comments I could find.  The rest of the thread just descends into a flame war after page 3.

Mideast ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah goes into effect

Sunday, August 13, 2006 at 11:17 pm | Posted in News | 1 Comment

Picture from Washington Post. A man in a southern suburb of Beirut shouts for help from a building struck by an Israeli missile attack minutes after the cabinet endorsed a cease-fire.

The ceasefire ends 33 days of fighting that has killed about 900 people.  MSNBC, CNN, and BBC News have more information.

I’m not sure how long the ceasefire will last, but hopefully it will be long enough the help the war torn civilians in Israel and Lebanon.

President of Iran launches blog

Sunday, August 13, 2006 at 9:03 pm | Posted in News | Leave a comment

Iran’s president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad started a new blog today.  In his first entry, Ahmadinejad writes about his life and criticizes the United States.

The first massive paragraph reads:

During the era that nobility was a prestige and living in a city was perfection, I was born in a poor family in a remote village of Garmsar-approximately 90 kilometer east of Tehran. I was born fifteen years after Iran was invaded by foreign forces- in August of 1940- and the time that another puppet, named mohammad Reza – the son of Reza Mirpange- was set as a monarch in Iran. Since the extinct shah -Mohammad Reza- was supposed to take and enter Iran into western civilization slavishly, so many schemes were implemented that Iran becomes another market for the western ceremonial goods without any progress in the scientific field. Our Islamic culture would not allow such an infestation, and this was an impediment in front of shah and his foreign masters’ way. Thus, they decided to make this noble and tenacious culture weak gradually that Iran be attached strongly to the west as far as its economy, politics, and culture was concern. After the implementation of this policy and the unreal and outward of upswing, the villagers began to rush to the cities. Upon the enforcement of the land reform, the status of the villages became worst than the past and villagers for earning some breadcrumbs, they were deceived by the dazzling look and the misleading features of the cities and became suburban and lived in ghettos.

You take a look at Ahmadinejad’s blog here, just click on the little American flag icon in the upper right hand corner.  The blog also has a poll which asks, “Do you think that the US and Israeli intention and goal by attacking Lebanon is pulling the trigger for another word war?”

Lastly, there’s a form where people can send their questions to Ahmadinejad.  My question would be: President Ahmadinejad, why are you such a anti-semitic douchebag?

EDIT: There have been people wondering if the blog is a hoax or not.  I don’t know either, but for now I’ll consider it real.

Yet more Sheehan news!

Sunday, August 13, 2006 at 5:21 pm | Posted in Cindy Sheehan, News | Leave a comment

I should just make a full Cindy Sheehan catagory.  As reported by MSNBC, the anti-war protester says she’ll keep fighting:

Peace mom Cindy Sheehan spent the night in a hospital for a gynecological procedure and treatment of dehydration but said Saturday that wouldn’t stop her protest against the Iraq war on land she bought near President Bush’s Crawford ranch.  Sheehan was listed in stable condition at Providence Health Center in Waco, about 20 miles east of Crawford.

First time I’ve heard Ms. Sheehan described as a “peace mom”.  In any case, I hope she gets well soon.  I would also advise Sheehan not to fast in hot weather anymore.
